Kanye West was born in ATLANTA, GEORGIA, UNITED STATES on JUNE 8,1977. His father is RAY WEST and his mother is DONDA west. Kanye's full name is KANYE OMARI WEST.
1- CHILDHOOD & EARLY LIFE :
Kanye west's father Rey West was one of the former BLACK PANTHERS and he was the first-ever black photojournalist at the ATLANTA JOURNAL CONSTITUTION. Kanye west's mother Donda West was an ENGLISH PROFESSOR at the CLARK ATLANTA UNIVERSITY and she was also the CHAIR of the English department at the CHICAGO STATE UNIVERSITY. When Kanye has three years old, his parents got divorced, then he moved in with his mother to CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
Kanye West was raised in very humble surroundings, he belonged to a middle-class background. He did his schooling at POLARIS HIGHT SCHOOL in ILLINOIS, he shifted to NANJING in CHINA at the age of 10, because his mother Donda was asked to teach at the NANJING UNIVERSITY as part of an exchange program. Kanye was very creative from a very early age, he wrote his first poetry at the age of five, then he started to rap at the same age of five and he started to compose his own music, by the time he found himself in the seventh grade.
Kanye started to get involved more and more in the HIP-HOP scene of CHICAGO, when he was 13 years old he wrote a rap song called GREEN EGGS AND HAM. He convinced his mother to pay him some money so he can start recording in a studio. His mother DONDA WEST didn't want this for him, she accompanied him to a very small basement studio, where West met THE GODFATHER of CHICAGO HIP-HOP, No I.D. After that, he became Kanye West's mentor.
Kanye was offered in 1997 a scholarship from CHICAGO's AMERICAN ACADEMY of the ART and he took it in order to learn the art of panting and then he took the transfer to the CHICAGO STATE UNIVESITY to pursue ENGLISH LITERATURE. When he was 20 years old he decided to drop out of college to follow his dream of becoming a rapper and musician which has really upset his mother DONDA.
2- CAREER :
Kanye was involved in a small-time music production music from the mid-90s until the 2000s, he made music for the local artists. He was a ghost producer for Deric "D-DOT" ANGELETTIE. In 2000 Kanye got the much-awaited opportunity when he became the producer for artists on ROC-A-FELLA RECORDS. He produced hit singles for some famous artists like COMMON, LUDACRIS, CAM'RON, and many more. In 2001 The rapper JAY-Z the world-renowned entertainment business tycoon asked West to produce many tracks of his hit album THE BLUEPRINT.
By the time, Kanye continued to produce tracks for singers and rappers too, like ALECIA KEYS, JANET JACKSON, etc... Kanye became a successful producer, but he has another true desire which was to become a RAPPER. This situation became very challenging for him to get acceptance as a rapper, not as a producer. In 2002 He got a breakthrough that he was looking for in an unusual fashion, then he meet up with an accident when he was coming back from a long recording session in L.A. When he was in the hospital, he wrote a song named THROUGH THE WIRE, which was three weeks later recorded by ROC-A-FELLA RECORDS, then it became a part of his own debut album DEATH. In 2004 Kanye came up with his second album THE COLLEGE DROPOUT, it became an instant hit among music lovers, he sold 441,000 copies in its first week, it secured the number two position on BILLBOARD 200. It has a number called SLOW JAMZ that featured Twista and JAMIE FOXX alongside WEST. It was the top album of the year voted by two big music publications. there was another track from the album named JESUS WALKS that showed KANYE's emotions about faith and Christianity.
In 2005, Kanye collaborated an Amerecan film composer named JON BRION who produced a lot of tracks on the album. In order to work on Kanye's new album LATE REGISTRATION, he hired a sting orchestra for the album and afforded the money that he made from THE COLLEGE DROPOUT, it sold 2.3 million copies in USA. In the same year Kanye West announced that he will release his PASTELLE CLOTHING line but it was cancelled.
Kanye was active all the years and he had made a great and big career for himself. On Feburary 14,2016 Kanye released his seventh album titled THE LIFE OF PABLO. Another album which is the eight on in his career was dropped on June 2018, January 2019, West started his weekly SUNDAY SERVICE orchestration. there was included soul variation, Kanye's songs, and many songs by other celebrities. Finally in 2022 He announced that he will release the eleventh studio album DONDA.
3- AWARDS & ACHIEVEMENTS :
- Kanye grabbed 10 Grammy nominations for his album THE COLLEGE DROPOUT, including ALBUM OF THE YEAR and BEST RAP ALBUM.
- He won too a Grammy for THE BEST RAP ALBUM category. His album was certified triple platinum in the UNITED STATES.
4- FAMILY & PERSONAL LIFE :
2007 Kanye's mother DONDA died of a heart disease after that she underwent a plastic surgery procedure. When she died she has 58years old, this has left Kanye in turmoil, he was extremely close to his mother, right before her death she released her memoir called RAISING KANYE: LIFE LESSONS from the MOTHER OF HIP-HOP SUPERSTAR.
Kanye was in a relationship which was described as an on-and-off relashion with the famous designer ALEXIS PHIFER about four years, after getting engaged to her for 18 months they quit each other, From 2008 to 2010 he has a new relationship with the model AMBER ROSE.
APRIL 2012 Kanye began dating the very famous KIM KARDASHIAN. They got engaged in OCTOBER 2013 and married on MAY 2014. This famous couple had FOUR CHILDREN, NORTH, CHICAGO, SAINT, and PSALM. In 2021 KIM KARDASHIAN filed for divorce from Kanye West, right after that he started dating the actress JULIA FOX, then they brock up after two months.
