LIL NAS X RELEASES FULL BET DISS 'LATE TO DA PARTY' VERSION WITH NBA YOUNGBOY

With his latest release, Lil Nas X fuels the fire of his one-sided beef with the network ahead of the 2022 BET Awards. On Friday (June 24), the "Industry Baby" rapper collaborated with NBA YoungBoy in the official music video for his "Late To Da Party (F*CK BET)" single, which he teased earlier this month on his personal social media. The start of the Gibson Hazard-directed music video, which recreates the cover art for the song, features a BET Award trophy at the bottom of a toilet bowl being urinated upon, plays on Lil Nas X's feud with BET. While the inclusion of NBA YoungBoy as a guest feature on "Late To Da Party (F*CK BET)" was unexpected, the blistering energy Lil Nas X poured into the tune was not. On June 1, he took to Twitter to express his displeasure with being snubbed and receiving zero nominations in 2022, despite a stellar performance in 2021 that included the release of his platinum album and Hot 100 chart-topping single. "Thank you for the best awards." Once again, an outstanding zero nominations. "Black excellence!" he wrote in the since-deleted tweet.

Despite the fact that BET quickly replied to Lil Nas X, waving the white flag and extending their support and thanks to the Atlanta native despite his issues with the network, the Montero rapper wasn't the only artist who felt he was conspicuously overlooked. Queen Latifah recently defended Lil Nas X, who feels his sexuality is one of the reasons he has allegedly been blackballed by BET and revealed why she believed he deserved a nomination while chatting to TMZ outside of the Jimmy Kimmel Live !“Lil Nas X is amazing,” she graciously replied. “He should’ve been nominated. I don’t know if that’s the case. I don’t know what’s behind all that, but inclusion is always the key. That’s what we should be striving for. There’s enough room in this world for everybody.”

"Lil Nas X is incredible," she generously responded. "He deserved to be nominated." I'm not sure if that's correct. I'm not sure what's going on, but inclusiveness is always the key. That is what we should strive towards. This earth has ample room for everyone." The BET Awards 2022 will begin on Sunday (June 26) at 8 p.m. ET/PT from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. Doja Cat has the most nominations of any artist, with six, including one for Album of the Year.
