YoungBoy Never Broke Again Lyrics Thrown Out as Evidence in His Gun Case
The rapper's songs cannot be used against him in his trial, according to the court in YoungBoy Never Broke Again's California gun possession case.

The trial of NBA YoungBoy for gun possession began on Tuesday (July 12). Judge R. Gary Klausner of the Central District of California denied the prosecution's effort to introduce the Baton Rouge, La. rhymer's lyrics as evidence in court today.

For weeks, the defense team for YoungBoy Never Broke Again has been attempting to stymie the government's intention to utilize lyrics in court. The lyrics to the songs "Gunsmoke" and "Life Support," in particular, indicate the sort of gun, a FN, with which the rapper was supposedly detained.

The use of song lyrics in court trials has been a contentious issue. Recently, the prosecution in YSL's RICO case attempted to utilize violent lyrics to reject Young Thug and Gunna's bond. New York approved legislation restricting the use of lyrics in court in May.

The California lawsuit arises from the arrest of NBA YoungBoy in Los Angeles on March 22, 2021. After leaving his Los Angeles home, cops attempted to pull the wrapper over in order to arrest him on an outstanding federal warrant. YoungBoy allegedly led police on a brief pursuit in his car before leaving the vehicle and fleeing on foot. Police utilized K-9 dogs to track down the artist and discovered an FN.45 caliber weapon in his vehicle.

The judge ruled to exclude the use of his rap lyrics as evidence

A California magistrate granted bail to the rapper. However, a Louisiana court ordered that he be detained in jail owing to an ongoing firearms case in Baton Rouge, La. The FBI nicknamed its investigation against YoungBoy "Never Free Again" in June of last year. YoungBoy was given bail and placed under home arrest in October 2021.

NBA YoungBoy is still facing a gun charge in Louisiana, stemming from his arrest in September 2020 at a film shoot when many firearms were seized. In that case, he received a respite in March when a judge tossed out video evidence against the rapper.

We know that the opening statements for the new update have been made. According to prosecutors, the weapon was discovered in the Youngboy's car and therefore in his possession. The defense claims there is no proof tying Youngboy to the gun, such as a photo, video, or DNA on the pistol.
