It’s official! The Super Bowl performance has made history by bagging not one, not two, but three Emmy Awards!
The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, which included Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent, recently won Creative Arts Emmys. Based on a tweet from Television Academy, the six Hip Hop/R&B superstars won the gilded trophy for the West Coast-themed event throughout the Greatest Variety Special (Live) and Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special categories.
The much-anticipated Super Bowl LVI Pepsi Halftime Show took place on February 13 when the Los Angeles Rams faced the Cincinnati Bengals. The Rams' victory over the Bengals was one of several for Los Angeles that night.
The custom production, curated by Dr. Dre, featured low riders, a Doggystyle poster, and Crip-walking, including over 400 choreographers and voluntary cast attendees. This was the first time Hip Hop/R&B took center stage at The Big Game. The musical titans played a mix of some of their best hits during the few wonderful minutes they were onstage.
