T.I. and Ciara co-headlined the event, which featured appearances by some of music's biggest artists. Everyone from Jay-Z and Kanye West to Diddy and Swizz Beatz to Wyclef Jean and Mopp Deep is on the list. T.I. and Hov encouraged Kanye to join them on stage at one point during the event.
The group is obviously taken off guard by the G-Unit boss, who jogs a few laps around the stage only seconds after delving into "Can't Tell Me Nothing." Hov, apparently irritated, pauses the act to urge 50 to scram.
“You can get down, n***a,” Hov says. “You can get down. It’s all good.” “This a real special moment, ain’t it?” He adds.
The incident clearly amused 50 at the time, and he appears to be equally amused now. He joked about it on Instagram, addressing the incessant downplaying of his accomplishments.
“This is why they say I only had one album. I made them so uncomfortable,” he wrote Thursday. “I’m working on being a better person. LOL.”
For almost two decades, 50 and Jay have had a tumultuous relationship. Fif recently went after Hov for their 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show. N.O.R.E., the presenter of Drink Champs, stated Jay reluctantly permitted 50 to play because Eminem allegedly threatened to drop out of the performance if 50 didn't appear.
Fif responded to the allegation on social media, wondering why Em—who signed 50 to his Shady Records imprint—had to battle for 50's participation.
"The question should be, why would he have to say that?" 50 captioned a report screenshot. “N.O.R.E. Your big homie is running around trying to look like a gay painter. LOL.”
