LeBron James' Tribute To Takeoff Of Migos Goes Bad As Fans Slam Him For A Big Lie And Call Him Out

LeBron James is famed for exaggerating, and the NBA legend did so again this weekend when paying respect to Takeoff.

However during a post-game press conference following the Los Angeles Lakers
loss to LeBron
's former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, on Sunday (November 6), King James stated that he has been a fan of Migos since his rookie season with the Miami Heat in 2010.

“I’ve been listening to those guys for so long,” he said. “I was listening to those guys my first year with the Heat in 2010. [My teammates] had no idea who the Migos was. They were cursing me out when I would play it throughout the locker room. I was like, ‘These guys are next, I’m letting you know right now.'”

Fans jumped on LeBron James' statement, questioning how he could have been a Migos fan in 2010 given the ATL trio's debut album, Juug Season, didn't release until 2011. Their breakthrough came two years later, with songs like "Versace," "Hannah Montana," and "Bando."

But besides his sketchy math, LeBron also paid tribute to Takeoff ahead of the Lakers-Cavs game by donning an outfit inspired by the late Migos lyricist.

Takeoff wore the same black suit, sunglasses, and silver Jesus piece to Quality Control CEO Pierre "Pee" Thomas' "black ball" birthday party in June.

“If you know me any then you know how much I love @yrntakeoff!! Still doesn’t feel real to me! Rest in Paradise Rocket Man,” LeBron explained on Instagram.
