Music Career :
- Kirshnik Ball has always been fascinated to music since he was a youngster. Beginning in seventh grade, he began screaming out groovy beats and frequently developing new rhythms. As he performed at parties or at school in spontaneous performances, friends and family noticed he had a natural ability. But Ball never saw music as a realistic professional option for his abilities.
- In 2009, he was called by his uncle, Quavious Keyate Marshall, and cousin, Kiari Kendrell Cephus, who were struck by his raw ability and encouraged him to establish this hip-hop trio. Ball agreed, and the three of them formed the 'Polo Club' group. Quavious changed his name to Quavo, Kiari changed his name to Offset, and Krishnik changed his name to Takeoff. The group had sporadic stage appearances around Georgia and produced lousy songs. Takeoff still didn't take music very seriously. The other two members ultimately sat down with him and brought his attention to his abilities as well as the potential for the future if they are successful. This served as a wake-up call for Takeoff, who focused his efforts on producing high-quality music with his team members.
- Eventually, in August of 2011, Polo Club launched its first full-length project, Juug Season, a mixtape. They followed up with another mixtape in June of 2012. During this period, the group's name was changed to Migos.
- When Migos' track 'Versace,' which went viral in 2013, fame finally knocked on Takeoff's door. The song made its way across the music industry and peaked at number 99 on the Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States. Drake, a Canadian rapper, remade the song and performed it at the 2013 iHeartRadio Music Festival later that year.
- Following the success of their first hit record, Migos released their mixtape 'Y.R.N. (Young Rich Niggas),' which included the lead track 'Versace.' The album got widespread critical acclaim, including an 8 out of 10 rating from Spin Magazine's Brandon Soderberg. They began playing on top stages such as Hot 109.7 radio station's birthday gala. Versace and Y.R.N. were featured in a number of notable hip-hop publications before the end of 2013, including Spin Magazine, Rolling Stone, and Pitchfork.
- Takeoff and his team members released 'Yung Rich Nation,' Migos' fourth project and first full-length album, in 2015. Big celebrities like Chris Brown and Young Thug made cameos on the album. The album sold 150,000 copies in its first week and finished third on the Top Rap Album Charts.
- Takeoff and Migos were supposed to sign a lucrative contract with GOOD Music Imprint in 2016, negotiated by Kanye West himself, however, the agreement has yet to be finalized as of 2017.
- End of 2016, he dropped the first song from their second album, 'Bad and Boujee,' which included rapper Lil Uzi Vert's voice. The song immediately topped the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Takeoff's first US chart hit. The song's music video has earned over 400 million views on the trio's YouTube site. Culture, the album, was released in January 2017.
