50 Cent Shuts Down Claim That JAY-Z's Impact Is Bigger Than Eminem - WhatsOnRap

50 Cent believes Eminem's impact on hip-hop is bigger than Jay-Z, reacting to a debate on Shaq's The Big Podcast.

50 Cent yet again proved his support to Eminem. Following former NBA star Jamal Crawford said that JAY-Z has had a larger effect on hip-hop than the Detroit rapper, the hip-hop mogul defended his mentor.

Crawford mentioned Hov and Em on Shaquille O'Neal's "The Big Podcast" when listing his favorite basketball players.

“JAY-Z’s effect on hip-hop is bigger than any album sales that Eminem will have. That’s just how it goes,” Crawford told Shaq, who responded, “That’s a good point.”

Hip-hop fans joined in on the statement, sparking controversy on social media. 50 Cent slammed Crawford's assertion that Shawn Carter is more influential than Marshall Mathers when the tape was shared on the Hip-Hop Wolf Instagram page.

He wrote, "ha bullshit," adding a sneezing emoji.

The reaction of 50 should come as no surprise. Since acquiring Em to his Shady Records label two decades ago, he has remained a close pal.

"I don't think they give him the cultural credit that he deserves," 50 stated on "Ebro in the Morning" last year.

50 aims to carry on Eminem's legacy. He recently revealed that he is working on an 8 Mile television series, which he compares to "The Fresh Prince of Bel- Air's" dramatic reboot.

“I’m gonna bring 8 Mile to television,” he told Big Boy. “It’s gonna be big. I’m working. I ain’t got no duds. I’m battin’ a hunnid.”
