Young Thug & Gunna’s YSL RICO case is being featured in a Hulu documentary “Rap Trap: Hip Hop On Trial” - WhatsOnRap

ABC News Studios is releasing an hour-long documentary titled “Rap Trap” on the criminal case against Young Thug and Gunna, to air on Hulu Feb. 23.

The current YSL RICO lawsuit between Young Thug and Gunna has been converted into a Hulu documentary.

Rap Trap: Hip-Hop on Trial, an hour-long documentary produced by ABC News Studios, will concentrate on the extensive criminal case against Thug, Gunna, and their Atlanta-based collective, as well as the dispute over rap lyrics being used as evidence in criminal cases.

The documentary, which will premiere on Hulu on February 23, will contain interviews with 300 Entertainment CEO Kevin Liles, Young Thug's ex-girlfriend Jerrika Karlae, and other artists including as Fat Joe, Killer Mike, and will.i.am.

“Rap music is judged unlike any other genre like Black people are judged unlike any other people,” Killer Mike says in the trailer for the documentary.

Rap Trap: Hip-Hop on Trial will also focus on McKinley "Mac" Phipps Jr., a former No Limit rapper who served 21 years in jail for a crime he alleges he did not commit. Many of his songs were used to help convict him of manslaughter in 2001 for the death of a 19-year-old guy at a Louisiana nightclub the previous year.

The documentary comes after Gunna got freed from prison in December after pleading guilty to a racketeering conspiracy charge.
