Ice Spice is collaborating with Taylor Swift on a new song, but many are upset because of statements made by Swift's purported boyfriend, Matty Healy.
The 12-time Grammy Award winner announced on Instagram Wednesday that a deluxe edition of Midnights will be released on Friday, with the rising star rapper appearing on a new version of "Karma."
Taylor Swift tweeted a photo of the song's cover art, calling Ice Spice "the one to watch." “Um. SO much to tell you. I’m a massive fan of this brilliant artist and after getting to know her I can confirm: she is THE ONE to watch,” she penned in the caption. “So delighted to say that Karma Featuring the incredible @icespice will be out TOMORROW night at MIDNIGHT ET as a part of the new Midnights (Til Dawn Edition) deluxe album that you can pre-order now at store.taylorswift.com!”
Ice Spice also announced the news, complimenting Taylor Swift for "being the coolest person on the planet."
Fans both musicians, however, were quick to criticize the collaboration, citing Taylor Swift's suspected relationship with Matty Healy, the frontman of English band the 1975. Earlier this year, the musician made racist remarks about Ice Spice when appearing on a podcast. Ice Spice recently told Elle that she is "obsessed" with the 1975.
