Kanye West Sued by Paparazzi Photographer for Grabbing and Throwing Her Phone - WhatsOnRap

Legal Battle Unleashed: Kanye West Faces Lawsuit for Altercation with Photographer

Kanye West was sued for assault earlier this year after a confrontation with a photographer in which he seized and hurled their phone.

According to TMZ, Kanye is being sued by Nichol Lechmanik, who alleges she was "traumatized and humiliated" by Yeezy during the event.

Lechmanik also alleges that not having her phone cost her money. On January 27, Lechmanik's business colleague took video of Kanye tapping her car window after he and his wife Bianca Censori were tailgated. The Yeezy mogul reportedly gave her a "death stare," according to Lechmanik.

"You all ain't gonna run up on me like that," Ye tells her in the video. "If I say stop, stop with your cameras."

Kanye West then yanked the phone from Lechmanik's grasp and tossed it into the street, which the photographer said landed in oncoming cars.

Lechmanik made a police report, and law enforcement investigated the suspected violence, but Kanye was later exonerated of all charges. The Ventura County District Attorney's Office confirmed that the phone was not shattered and that the $30 case had just minimal outside damage.

Lechmanik has filed suit against Kanye for assault, violence, and carelessness in her case, and she is seeking an injunction barring the controversial Chicago native from dealing with any photographers.

This is hardly the only case Kanye will have to deal with in 2023. West was forced to pay $300,000 to a disgruntled creative director who claimed she was never paid for a picture session last month.

Katelyn Mooney, a Brooklyn-based creative director, made the charges in a lawsuit filed against Ye's Yeezy Inc. for allegedly neglecting to pay her for a last-minute shoot he scheduled in September.
