Iggy Azalea, Onyx's mother, had previously criticized Carti for alleged absenteeism. Following the release of Carti's "Whole Lotta Red" album in December 2020, Iggy publicly accused him of infidelity during her pregnancy and not spending Christmas with their son.
In her social media posts, Iggy expressed disappointment over Carti choosing an album party over Christmas with Onyx. Despite a planned family vacation, she claimed Carti excluded her and their son from the holiday celebration.
Carti, who turned 27 in September, recently revealed he has a newborn daughter named Eve. The mother's identity remains undisclosed.
"Dear O" provides a touching portrayal of Carti's journey into parenthood, challenging previous narratives surrounding his role as a father. The mini-documentary sheds light on the personal side of the artist and captures the genuine moments shared between father and son. As Carti continues to navigate both his music career and family life, "Dear O" serves as a testament to the evolving chapters in his personal narrative.
