Eminem Promotes New Track "Houdini" with Magician David Blaine's Stunt

Eminem has officially announced his latest single, and it promises to deliver an impressive and magical experience.

The Detroit rap icon is gearing up to release his forthcoming album, "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)", this summer. 

To build anticipation, he'll be launching the lead single, "Houdini," this Friday (May 31).

In a captivating video posted to Instagram on Tuesday (May 28), Eminem not only revealed the song's title and release date but also included a surprising video call with renowned magician David Blaine.

The video begins with Eminem calling Blaine and saying, “David, what up man? Yo, listen, I need your help with something.” Blaine, ever the showman, responds: “Yeah, whatever you need.”

Eminem proceeds, “Well, first of all, you know you the greatest to ever do it, right? So, what I was wondering is like, how far can we go with this magic? Like, can we do like a stunt or something?”

In typical Blaine fashion, he replies, “You mean something like this?” before dramatically drinking a glass of wine and then astonishingly eating the glass itself, much to the shock of those around him.

Remaining unperturbed, Eminem quips, “Well, for my last trick, I’m gonna make my career disappear.” He humorously added in the caption: “Please do not try this at home. Or anywhere else.”

The announcement of "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)" came in April, with Eminem hinting at a summer release. 

A teaser trailer for the album dropped soon after Eminem made a guest appearance at the 2024 NFL Draft held in Detroit. 

The teaser took the form of a true crime show, highlighting the controversial nature of Eminem’s infamous alter ego, Slim Shady.

In the clip, a reporter delves into Slim Shady’s contentious and provocative lyrics, stating: “Through his complex and oft-criticized, tongue-twisting rhymes, the anti-hero known as Slim Shady has had no shortage of enemies.”

The trailer also features a cameo from 50 Cent, who adds, “He’s not a friend, he’s a psychopath.”

With "Houdini" set to drop soon, fans eagerly anticipate what Eminem has in store. 

This single is expected to set the stage for "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)", promising a thrilling mix of lyrical prowess and theatrical flair.
