Kendrick Lamar's latest release, "Not Like Us," has solidified its place as a frontrunner for the summer anthem of 2024.

On Thursday, July 4th, the West Coast rap titan dropped the visually stunning accompaniment to his chart-topping hit.

Shot against the backdrop of his hometown, Compton, California, the video captures Lamar amidst an electrifying atmosphere, surrounded by an enthusiastic crowd singing the infectious chorus, "They not like us/They not like us/They not like us."

Throughout the video, Kendrick Lamar is seen navigating various iconic locales in Compton, accompanied by loyal fans who amplify the song's defiant message.

The visuals highlight Lamar's deep-rooted connection to his community, portraying scenes of unity and celebration.

In one poignant moment, Kendrick Lamar and renowned producer Mustard are pictured outside Tam's Burger, a local hotspot, with Mustard notably donning a Toronto Blue Jays hat—an innocuous choice amidst ongoing speculation.

Another touching scene features Lamar's longtime partner, Whitney Alford, joyfully dancing with their children, effectively countering previous insinuations made by Drake on "Family Matters."

Notably, the video doesn't shy away from subtle jabs at Drake. Kendrick Lamar playfully strikes an owl-shaped piñata, a symbolic gesture referencing Drake's OVO owl motif.

Towards the video's conclusion, Lamar gazes thoughtfully at a caged owl, further underscoring the track's underlying themes.

Directed by Dave Free and Kendrick Lamar himself, the "Not Like Us" music video is a visual feast that not only celebrates Kendrick Lamar's lyrical prowess but also pays homage to his roots and confronts ongoing rap rivalries in a creative and impactful manner.
