Lil Wayne, renowned for his dominance in the rap world, is proving he’s also a force to be reckoned with in the realm of fantasy football.

In a recent interview with "Not Just Football", Weezy showcased his unique approach to fantasy football by assembling a dream team composed entirely of hip-hop stars.

Kicking off his fantasy draft, Lil Wayne took on the role of coach, adding his signature flair to the team-building process. Wayne said, setting the stage for his unconventional lineup.

His quarterback choice was none other than Drake, aka the 6ix God, who Wayne affectionately referred to as “Champagne Papi.”

Despite being a key player in his fantasy football roster, Jay-Z was humorously sidelined, likened to a retired Tom Brady due to his current focus on business ventures.

"Obviously, I got to be the coach, As far as quarterback, my dawg, the 6ix God as the quarterback, Champagne Papi [Drake, for those of you reading this from under a rock]. [Jay-Z] would be Tom Brady, so Jay's not in this. He's just retired, he got a new job coming up, he making $300 mil'. He gon' be okay. I want our running back to be, you know, like, tough, hardened."

When it came to running back, Lil Wayne went with Beanie Sigel, citing his tough demeanor as the perfect fit for the role.

"I like tough running backs -– I played fullback, so... Like, Beanie Sigel. You see Beanie Sigel back there, you know?"

Wayne explained, drawing on his own experience as a former fullback.

Lil Wayne’s Hip-Hop Fantasy Football Team:

For wide receivers, Wayne opted for artists known for their larger-than-life personas. Future was selected for his flamboyance and swagger, while 2 Chainz was chosen as the other key receiver.

“2 Chainz is the guy who’s always ready to make a play,” Wayne remarked, envisioning him as the player who’d be asking for long throws downfield.

On defense, Wayne’s picks were just as intriguing. He chose Post Malone for linebacker, describing him as a “white boy crazy” with a look reminiscent of a tattooed football enforcer.

The team’s defensive ends were assigned to The Game and 50 Cent, two heavyweights in the hip-hop world who Wayne believed would excel in those positions.

"They got to be swaggy... We going Future. An opposite side of him, we going with 2 Chainz. He going to be the guy, the wide receiver that be like, 'Man, just put it up. Just throw it up.' Linebackers... Need them to be white boy crazy. Eye black just makes no more sense. We going Post Malone. You see all the tattoos and the grill, yeah. He remind me of [Maxx] Crosby. We got [The Game] and [50 Cent] on each end, left and right."

This fantasy football lineup, blending rap legends with football roles, highlights Lil Wayne’s creative approach to merging his passions.

Whether or not these hip-hop icons can compete with actual football stars remains a fun debate among fans and experts.

Nevertheless, Wayne’s fantasy team is a testament to his imaginative spirit and deep connections within the music industry.
