Drake Takes a Shot at J. Cole with Old Tweet on Burner Instagram Account

Drake's recent social media activity has sparked fresh controversy, as the rapper seemingly took a dig at J. Cole through his secondary Instagram account, @plottttwistttttt.

On August 6, Drake's content drop revealed a treasure trove of material, including unreleased music, behind-the-scenes footage, and old posts.

One particular post has caught the attention of fans and industry insiders alike: a screenshot of a 2019 tweet mocking J. Cole over a supposed mishap involving JAY-Z.

The tweet, which resurfaced on Drake’s account, humorously recounts a story where a fan allegedly stole J. Cole's phone and attempted to call JAY-Z, who didn’t answer.

Instead, the fan reportedly called JAY-Z from their own phone, and he picked up. The post is seen as a jab at Cole’s relationship with his Roc Nation boss, highlighting a perceived awkwardness in their connection.

“Remember when j cole got his phone stolen out of his pocket by a fan and they called jay z from it but he wasn’t answering so they called from their own phone and he picked up.”

This resurfacing of old content comes amidst recent tensions between Drake and J. Cole. The friction between the two artists has been palpable, especially after Cole’s decision to step back from his feud with Kendrick Lamar.

Cole’s decision to apologize for his diss track “7 Minute Drill” at his Dreamville Festival in April, coupled with his appearance on Future and Metro Boomin’s collaborative album "We Still Don’t Trust You", has been seen by some as a betrayal to Drake.

The album features tracks that have been interpreted as shots at Drake, exacerbating the rift between the two rappers.

Drake’s repost of the tweet from his burner account adds fuel to the fire, suggesting that the beef between him and J. Cole may not be as resolved as previously thought.

Fans and critics are left to speculate whether this public mockery is a strategic move by Drake to reassert his dominance or merely a playful jab.

As the hip-hop community watches closely, the dynamics between these major players continue to shift, influencing their public personas and future collaborations.

The ongoing drama underscores the volatile nature of relationships in the rap industry, where personal and professional lines often blur.
