Tyler, The Creator and Eminem have had a complex relationship over the years, marked by both admiration and tension.

In a recent interview with Maverick Carter on the YouTube show Mavericks with Mav Carter, Tyler expressed deep respect for Eminem, sharing how the Detroit icon shaped his early rap skills.

Tyler, The Creator Apologizes to Eminem for Harsh Criticism of "Recovery"

Tyler revealed during the interview. He highlighted how Eminem’s intricate rhyme schemes and vivid storytelling played a crucial role in his development as an artist.

Despite this enduring admiration, the relationship between the two rappers took a complicated turn in recent years.

Tyler, known for his sharp critiques, became increasingly critical of Eminem’s later work, particularly in the latter part of the 2010s.

His harsh commentary, especially towards Eminem’s 2010 album Recovery, was a surprising shift for someone who once held Em in such high regard.

Eminem, who had respected Tyler’s rise in the music industry, didn’t take these criticisms lightly.

The tension culminated in a direct response from Eminem on the track “Fall” from his 2018 album Kamikaze, where he addressed Tyler’s comments with a diss.

This marked a significant moment in their relationship, leading to a period of silence between the two.

Now, Tyler is looking back with regret. He admits that his earlier dismissal of Recovery was hasty and undeserved.

As he has matured, Tyler realizes the weight of his words and the impact they had on someone he still deeply respects. He expressed genuine remorse, saying he feels guilty for how he handled his criticisms, especially considering Recovery is one of Eminem’s most personal albums.
