YG Brings Rival Compton Gangs Together for Peace Walk
YG recently took a powerful step towards unity in his hometown of Compton by organizing a peace walk with rival gang members.
The event, held on Sunday, brought together members of the Treetop Pirus and Fruit Town Pirus, two gangs that have been at odds for years.
The Game also joined the walk, showing support for YG, the artist behind the "Just Re'd Up 3" mixtape.

In a conversation with TMZ, YG explained the motivation behind the peace walk.
“We came together. My hood and the Fruit Town Pirus across the street, we’ve been at war for, like, the last 10 years. We just enemies. So I felt like we all needed to come together and walk down our main street, We all from Piru so we don’t really need to be beefing with each other. We’ve been doing that sh*t for years so it’s time to like… if we can clean it, clean it up. There’s been a lot of conversations about that sh*t so I put some energy towards it and we got it right.” He concluded: “It’s successful. All love and positive. We outside.”

The peace walk began at Gonzales Park, where local residents gathered to show their support.
Many took photos with YG and other attendees, marking the event as a significant moment in the community.
The Game was also seen mingling with the locals, further emphasizing the unity that the walk aimed to promote.
While YG didn’t provide a specific reason for organizing the event, it was reported that he had been working behind the scenes for some time, engaging in discussions with both gangs to make the peace walk a reality.
His efforts paid off, as the event was marked by a sense of camaraderie and a shared desire to move past years of conflict.
This isn’t the first time a Compton rapper has taken steps towards promoting peace. Earlier this year, Kendrick Lamar hosted The Pop Out - Ken & Friends, an event with a similar goal of fostering unity in the community.
YG’s peace walk is a testament to his commitment to creating positive change in Compton. As a rapper who began his career in 2008 alongside DJ Mustard with their label Pu$haz Ink, YG has always had deep ties to his hometown.
This recent effort to bring rival gangs together is just another example of how he’s using his platform to make a difference, promoting peace and unity in a community that has long been affected by violence.
