Usher Discusses Super Bowl LIX and the Challenges of Performing on the Halftime Stage

Usher Discusses the Difficulty of Super Bowl Halftime and Kendrick Lamar’s Potential to Bring Out Drake

Usher Comments on Super Bowl Halftime, Avoids Discussion on Kendrick Lamar and Drake Reunion

Usher recently shared his insights on the Super Bowl halftime show, but remained tight-lipped about the possibility of Kendrick Lamar bringing out Drake for Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.

Appearing on "Live with Kelly and Mark", Usher reflected on his own experience headlining Super Bowl LVIII, describing it as one of the most challenging stages for any performer.

In a candid conversation, Usher emphasized the high stakes of the Super Bowl halftime show.

"Everybody has this fifteen minutes of fame idea, but it's really your fifteen minutes of fame. You have to play hits. You've got to get right to it"

Usher on Kendrick Lamar’s Potential Drake Appearance at Super Bowl LIX and Halftime Show Difficulties:

His advice to Kendrick Lamar? “Play the hits.” He playfully added that Mark Consuelos, one of the show’s hosts, “chose violence” by suggesting the potential appearance of Drake.

When Kelly Ripa proposed that Usher might mediate a reconciliation between Kendrick and Drake, Usher declined, stating firmly: “I want no part of that.”

He acknowledged the immense pressure that comes with performing at the Super Bowl and expressed his gratitude for having had the opportunity.

“Let's just say, it's been a great experience to say that I could play the Super Bowl. I understand how much pressure comes with it and I wouldn't wish it on anybody. But I would wish it on you if you've had the career."

Adding to the discussion on Super Bowl LIX, 50 Cent weighed in on "The Talk".

He argued that Kendrick Lamar is a deserving candidate for the halftime show despite suggestions from fans and fellow artists that local legend Lil Wayne should headline.

“Kendrick deserves this spot,” 50 Cent asserted, highlighting Lamar’s significant impact on the rap and hip-hop scene.

Kendrick Lamar’s last Super Bowl performance was at Super Bowl LVI in 2022, where he shared the stage with Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, and Anderson .Paak.

As the anticipation builds for Super Bowl LIX, the discussion around Kendrick Lamar’s potential performance continues to stir excitement and speculation among fans and industry insiders alike.
