During his acceptance speech, Travis Scott reflected on the early struggles he faced in his career. Scott shared with the audience, went on to explain that as a producer, he was often misunderstood.
"I came from this generation where they considered us nowhere near hip-hop, And everyday I try to push the sound as a producer. Nobody knew what the f*ck I was trying to do [in the beginning] I always had this idea and vision."
Despite the challenges, Scott remained committed to his goal of elevating hip-hop's sound.
"To this day. Just to take the sound to the next level."

In a previous interview on HBO’s "The Shop", the rapper admitted that he deeply cares about winning awards like the "Grammys".
"A lot of my peers, everyone's like, 'Ah, f*ck that award.' I f*ck with, You play football to win the Super Bowl, you play basketball to win championships."
The rapper also expressed how difficult it can be to see others win awards that he feels should be his.
"It gets rough sometimes," he admitted, referencing the most recent snub at the 2024 Grammy Awards where other artists took home honors that Scott believed he deserved.
