Performing on Saturday (November 2), the hip-hop icon was honored by New Orleans’ own Master P and Mayor LaToya Cantrell, who expressed gratitude for Wayne's contributions to the city and announced significant new recognitions.

During the event, Mayor Cantrell took to the stage to present Lil Wayne with the key to New Orleans, a moment that visibly moved the rap legend. 

Known for his deep connection to his roots, Wayne appeared emotional as Cantrell praised him for his enduring impact on New Orleans and his dedication to uplifting his community through his music and influence. 

This heartfelt gesture highlighted Lil Wayne's powerful bond with his hometown, adding an emotional layer to the already memorable night.

In another huge announcement, Master P, an iconic figure in New Orleans rap, shared the exciting news that the city is creating its own Walk of Fame. 

Lil Wayne will be one of the first stars to be recognized, a historic honor that celebrates his legacy and impact on the hip-hop world. 

As part of this tribute, Master P presented Wayne with a custom fleur-de-lis plaque, symbolizing his upcoming spot on the Walk of Fame, which will be unveiled on Canal Street in February.

Adding to the honors, February 6 and 7 will be officially recognized as "Lil Wayne Day" in New Orleans, giving the city an annual opportunity to celebrate his achievements and contributions to hip-hop. 

This new tradition cements Lil Wayne’s role as an ambassador for his city, giving fans a chance to show appreciation for one of rap's most influential figures.

The festival itself was also a highlight for hip-hop fans, as it marked a rare reunion of the Hot Boys. 

The group performed together as a four-piece for the first time since 2000, bringing back nostalgic energy and thrilling fans with classic hits.
