New Zealand‘s own Israel Adesanya, a prominent figure in the Middleweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), and a former two-time UFC Middleweight Champion, has touched down in Saudi Arabia to extend his support to Francis Ngannou in his showdown against Tyson Fury.
Adesanya boasts a notable career in kickboxing, even challenging for the Glory Middleweight Championship title. As of September 12, 2023, he commands the #1 spot in the UFC middleweight rankings, and in the broader scheme, as of October 24, 2023, he stands at an impressive #8 in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings.
On the eve of the pre-fight extravaganza, Adesanya had an encounter with the Detroit legend, Eminem. The former UFC champion took to his Instagram story to share a picture alongside Slim Shady, playfully captioning it: “I identify as Stan in this moment,” all while the iconic track “Lose Yourself” played in the background. Shortly after, a video surfaced online capturing the moment Adesanya gleefully exclaimed, “Eminem just shook my hand,” with a hint of excitement in the air.
