Thugger Blasts Drake Over How He Treated Metro Boomin After His Mom’s Death, Calls Him “Stupid”

Young Thug Accuses Drake of Disrespecting Metro Boomin After His Mom’s Death, Calls Him “Stupid” for Getting Left Off the Album

The long-rumored tension between Metro Boomin and Drake may finally have an explanation, and it’s not what fans expected.

Thanks to a recently leaked jail call from Young Thug, we now have some insight into the root of their issues, dating back to the Heroes & Villains era.

While fans and blogs have speculated for years about why Metro and Drake stopped working together, nothing concrete ever surfaced, until now.

According to Wack 100, Young Thug recently spoke at length during a jail phone call about Drake, calling him out for nearly 30 minutes.

Clips from this conversation have begun circulating online, and one particular segment sheds light on the real source of the beef between Drizzy and the St. Louis superproducer.

Last year, during a GQ interview, Metro Boomin hinted at a personal issue with Drake that left him deeply hurt.

Though he refused to go into detail at the time, he clarified that it had nothing to do with a woman or anything petty. Instead, he described the fallout as something that affected him on an emotional level.

The root of the fallout appears to trace back to the 2022 release of “Trance” on Metro’s album Heroes & Villains.

The final version featured Young Thug and Travis Scott, but fans were quick to notice that a version featuring Drake had leaked online.

Thug explained in the leaked call that Metro chose to leave Drake off the track because he believed in the final version and felt it was the right direction for the song. Since it was Metro’s record, the decision was his to make.

But the real breaking point came during a much more personal moment in Metro’s life, the passing of his mother, Leslie Wayne, in June 2022.

According to Young Thug, Drake failed to properly support Metro during that difficult time, and instead seemed more concerned about his verse on “Trance.”

Young Thug Accuses Drake of Ignoring Metro Boomin’s Mother’s Death in Leaked Jail Call:

“I don’t understand how anyone could approach him about music right now… n**** ain’t even in the right head space… You think a n**** finna tell Drake, ‘Man, I don’t like that.'”

“He probably just sent some st*pid condolences…instead of giving him some wisdom or something real… Then, you come back two three weeks later like, ‘Yo, let me get this song…’ instead of figuring it out… You using the fact that you’re Drake as a weapon now.”

Young Thug didn’t hold back, labeling Drake “stupid” for how he handled the sensitive situation. The leaked audio has since sparked debate online, with fans divided over who was in the wrong.
