J. Cole Fires Back at Kendrick Lamar With “7 Minute Drill” Following “Like That” Diss

J. Cole has fired back at Kendrick Lamar with some pointed lyrics on his latest track, ‘7 Minute Drill,’ which serves as the outro on his surprise album ‘Might Delete Later.’

Kendrick Lamar made waves with his shots at Drake on ‘Like That,’ a track from Metro Boomin & Future’s album. In his verse, Kendrick asserted his dominance, claiming there’s no “big three” and positioning himself as the top dog.

Cole wasted no time in responding. He didn’t hold back, criticizing Lamar’s album ‘To Pimp A Butterfly‘ as “boring” and referring to his latest effort, ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers,’ as “tragic.”

In one verse, Cole raps, “He still doin’ shows, but fell off like the Simpsons. Yo first shit was classic, yo last shit was tragic.” He continues to assert his own success, highlighting his growth and current position at the forefront.

Prior to these lines, Cole also takes aim at Lamar’s consistency, suggesting that without the diss, Lamar wouldn’t be a topic of discussion.

The feud between the two rappers escalated when Kendrick Lamar dropped a verse on “Like That,” a track from Future and Metro Boomin’s collaborative album “We Don’t Trust You.” In that verse, Lamar took shots at both Drake and J. Cole, asserting his superiority in the rap game.

While Drake chose to address Lamar’s diss vaguely during his current tour, J. Cole opted for a more direct approach, releasing ‘7 Minute Drill‘ as a response on his surprise album, ‘Might Delete Later.’
