Young Thug Faces 8 Out Of 65 Charges In YSL RICO Case – WhatsOnRap

In the expansive RICO case against his Young Slime Life (YSL) gang, Young Thug is facing eight felonies.

The charges against the Atlanta rapper were verified in court records on Wednesday (January 4) as jury selection began in Fulton County, Georgia.

The RICO indictment includes 65 charges against Thug and other members of YSL, which authorities say is a “criminal street gang” associated with the Bloods that is responsible for a string of violent crimes in the Atlanta region, including murder and armed robbery.

Thugger’s eight allegations include conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and two counts of criminal street gang activity, which were filed when the rapper was first accused in May 2022.

He has additionally been charged with intent to distribute marijuana, intent to distribute codeine, possession of cocaine, possession of a handgun, and possession of a machine gun.

The drug and weapons charges were brought in August in connection with goods recovered during a police search of Thug’s house in Buckhead, Atlanta, after his arrest in May.

Young Thug was one among 28 YSL members detained in the RICO case, which has now been reduced to 14. In recent weeks, several defendants have accepted plea bargains, including Gunna, who was released from jail last month after pleading guilty to a single racketeering charge.

However Young Thug has kept his innocence, and the plea bargains are anticipated to make his quest for freedom much more difficult.
